Eligibility Criteria

The Alumni awards are open for those who completed a degree, diploma or PhD offered by IDC.

Exclusions:
  1. IDC Alumni currently associated with IDC. i.e. current faculty members and students pursuing another degree at IDC
  2. IDC Alumni awards committee members











Nomination Categories

Nominations are invited in the following categories:

Design Consulting and Entrepreneurship

IDCians who have been self-employed or established a design firm, or been a part of creating a design company is considered a design consultant or an entrepreneur.

Design Leadership

IDCians who have worked with corporates or large design firms in the capacity of an employee or has contributed in personal capacity in the organisation.

Social Responsibility

IDCians who have worked for social impact and change for not-for-profit projects at local/ national or international level or have been part of socially affirmative organisation.

Design Education

IDCians who have been involved in imparting and disseminating design knowledge through seminars, teaching and writing or have been involved in setting up / leading design institutes.

Service to IDC

IDCians who have associated themselves through collaborations and contribution for the academic, research and institutional development programs in IDC. Since this award is to recognise their exceptional service and contribution to IDC, the Jury will recommend possible award winners, and IDC decides the winner.

Others

IDCians who have created impact in any other field either closely related or even unrelated to design.











Award Levels

Nominations will be judged on the basis of the following criteria for all the award levels in each nomination category.

  1. Delivered a project of significant social and cultural importance at national or international level.
  2. Demonstrated thought leadership through ground-breaking publications at national/ international level.
  3. Made an unusual career choice that is inspiring and bold.
  4. Won a significant global award.
  5. Achieved excellence and recognition at national or international level in the field of design or related field.
  6. Significant contribution to social innovation through social impact initiatives for social enterprises, non-government or government organisations.

Young Alumnus of the Year

Young IDC alumnus who has completed a degree program less than 5 years ago and made a significant achievement that demonstrated their future potential as a design leader/ thinker.

Alumnus of the Year

IDC alumnus who has completed a degree program more than 5 years ago and made a significant achievement in the recent past (2-3 years) leading to significant impact on design, business or the society.

Distinguished Alumnus of the Year

This award will be given to an alumnus who has brought credit to themselves and IDC through distinguished work over a significant number of years.

Lifetime Contribution

This award will be given to an alumnus who has brought credit to themselves and IDC through distinguished work over during their entire lifetime.
