The focus started shifting from 'social issue' to 'industrial problems ' in the mid seventies. The growth in awareness was matched by a growth in resources. IDC grew both intellectually and physically.
The late seventies saw the firming up of a harmonious symbiotic relationship with the Industry in the form of faculty consultancy projects, followed by sponsored student projects. Seen above, clockwise from top left: S. Nadkarni's design for the Moscow Trade Fair, Table Fan by Kirti Trivedi, V. Bapat's ergonomic research, Lightweight bus (U.A.Athavankar,M.Chattopadhyay,S.SGurujee, M.S.G.Rajan), Stick cutting machine (a. g Rao, M.S.G Ranjan) and a toy design by A.G Rao.
