Abstract:

Hybrid cinema- the one which blends documentary and fiction elements is becoming a commonly experimented area in filmmaking practise in recent times. In my research, I am trying to look at existing theories in cinematic realism and trying to identify a common structure, framework with hybrid films to understand the connections it make with socio- political realities of the respective ethnographic regions in which it's made. Also trying to extend it to practise by making a film as part of research.
