2001 IDC, IIT Bombay Six Indian Season A Book Guide: Prof G V Sreekumar The Hindu calendar traditionally divides the year into six seasons- Greeshma, Varsha, Sharad, Hemant, Shishir and Vasant distinct from the calendar we follow in our times. India has her own philosophy of the seasons and they have been a subject of immense inspiration for art and literature. Festivals in India, an integral part of our lives, are closely related and dependent on the seasons. This project brings the experience of the Indian seasons into a book. It also includes the Hindu calendar and interesting information on Indian festivals, being an inseparable part of Indian life, also added richer content to the experience. |
