Spinning Process
Firstly artisan collects the cotton fibre and spun it into the yarn. Spinning also requires immense skill and patience. Yarn is a lengthy interlocked fibre. In handloom it is done with the help of charkha a hand spinning process were the fibre is drawn out and twisted to make a yarn or by spinning mills were the yarn spinning and cleaning are taken care by machines. Yarn is spun in counts according to their thickness and bifurcated for easy distribution of the yarn bundle suitably. The yarns are prepared and exported for the further processes. Most of the handloom weavers today use yarns from the mill-spun mills.
Hank yarn is a coiled bundle of yarn, which is basically used in handloom production.
