Annual 'Design Degree Show'

Design Degree Show (DDS) is the annual event, showcasing the design efforts at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay.
DDS is aimed at creating design awareness in society and simultaneously offers a platform for people to meet and interact, as a facilitator for new ideas to emerge and fruitful collaborations to materialize.

The following events are being organized as part of DDS 2008:
1. Exhibition of Student Projects
2. Student Project Presentations
3. IDC Animation/Film Screenings
4. Workshop on Design for High School Students
5. Seminars on Design Experience
6. Designers meet

This year the DDS exhibition, themed ‘Degree 44', coinciding with the Golden Jubilee year of IIT Bombay is the largest degree show ever. Never before has a graduating batch had so many students displaying their work.The show will be held at the IDC, IIT Bombay from 9th to 11th of June 2008 followed by a grand show at ‘Nehru Centre’, Mumbai from 13th to 15th June 2008.The exhibition will consist of exhibits displaying the design solutions of graduating students from the streams of Visual Communication, Interaction Design, Animation Design and Product Design. Alongside the exhibition, the students shall be delivering short presentations on their work and will screen their project films and animations.

This year along with the exhibition and presentation of projects, a number of events are scheduled alongside which students, professionals and general public can be a part of:  

Design Experience Seminar:
On the 9th and 10th of June, eminent designers having  expertise in diverse domains will present their experiences and case studies in design. The seminar will be held at IDC, IIT Bombay on the two days from 10.00 a.m to 5.00  p.m. Entry for the seminar is by registration.

Workshop on Design for High School Students:
Workshops for high school students on different areas of design such as Auto Design, Animation, Game and Toy Design, Brand Identity Design and Music Video Design will be held from 9:30 am onwards on 11th June 2008 at IDC, IIT Bombay.

Designers meet:
Another highlight at DDS 2008 is the Design Meet to be held at 8:30 PM on 10th June 2008, which is a meeting point for all professional designers.
