The objective of the project is to design for the rapidly increasing elderly population in India. The
project explores the area of mobility for the elderly more than 65 years of age. The project is aimed at
improving the aesthetics and usability of a four legged walker currently being used by the elderly. It also involved, identifying various
ergonomic, functional and usability issues with the existing aids and propose solutions for the same.
The walking aid design is such that it helps the elderly get up and walk with little or no assistance. The walking aid also ensures better stability and weight redistribution and ensures ease of holding and handling.
