This internship project at C-DAC, Pune aimed at installing interactive kiosks in galleries of the “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum, Mumbai”. A study of the visitors and the various aspects related to viewing artefacts in a museum was done for getting design directions and understanding the visitor expectations and problems. The study included visitor interviews, feedback through questionnaires and observation of visitor behaviour. The study findings are used in designing the content and interactions with the kiosks. The basic information architecture has been proposed with design recommendations about the nature of kiosk applications.
