The task was to improve the bicycling experience in the city of Auroville. The various areas of work were pathways and barriers, shelters, parking, way finding, rest stops, signage and landmarks. My focus being Rest stops, the purpose of these rest stops was to provide areas to rest, meet fellow bicyclists, unwind, drink water, phone services, get shelter along the pathway. We tried to create interesting spaces with different seating postures, landscaping and musical instruments. We used locally available materials and waste like granite, waste concrete rings to build the space.
