Visual Ethnography of the Suvarna Temple
Guide :
Prof. Nina SabnaniGod has numerous names and forms. Suvarna Temple is one such example of many gods under one roof.
This project is a reaffirmation of the multiplicity of India. It is a photographic and observational study of the seemingly mindless chaos that Suvarna Temple presents to an outsider. The intention was to understand the methodology of Visual Ethnography and how it can be applied in design. This understanding was based on multiplicity leading to perfect kitsch and importance of touch and feel in a temple to connect with God.
