The design has been developed with these needs in mind, since it aims to reduce the effort needed to get in, lie down and get up from the bed.

During the process, elderly people living in old age homes were interviewed to understand how they used their beds. Ideas were then generated, evaluated and developed to reach the final concept. The final form of the concept is further taken from a ‘form following function’ design to a one that reflects the emotional aspirations of the elderly – calm, strong and dignified.
