Social Networking Platform to Create Music Collaboratively
Guides: Prof. Ravi Poovaiah,
Dr. Ajanta Sen
Involving with music is a fundamental phenomenon that exists with every human being. Everyone can at
least hum a tune if she/he is moved by some kind of emotion. The project is an attempt to create an online platform on
which such basic instincts in music could be enhanced to higher levels of music composition and thus leading to
musical socialization among enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals in the field.
The end product is a social
networking platform equipped with jamming interface on which people sitting with their instruments in their respective
locations can perform real-time jamming online and can also form multiple virtual bands of different genres to fulfil
their musical zeal.
Summer Internship at Think Design, Hyderabad
I had the opportunity to think beyond at Think Design (www.thinkdesign.in) and had worked on diversified
projects during the two months stint there.
Works like Packaging design for toys made by rural artisans, Usability
audit for an alpha stage social networking platform and Designing cognition based error messages for a power
distribution software.... etc, gave me diverse practical exposure towards implication of user centred design
practice.
Technology based system to support women Self Help Groups of Andhra Pradesh
Guides: Prof. Anirudha Joshi
Self Help Groups (SHGs) are affinity based groups of poor rural women whose main function is microfinance.
The project involved designing a shared mobile based system (Pragathi) to reduce the complexity of SHG financial data
by processing significant information through mobile screen.
This is done through the interface designed using
colours, symbols, numbers and audio to communicate particulars related to periodical payments, upcoming opportunities and
also to enhance the spirit of self help among SHG members. Members access their data through a personal locket fitted with
RFID/NFC chip which helps for identification.
