Funtra - an Interactive installation for children
Guide: Prof. Ravi Poovaiah
Nowadays children have lot of means of entertainment, may it be gaming parlours, playing
and downloading games online, virtual pets, remote plays, mobile games, etc. These things entertain them a lot, but
keep them away from peers, group interactions and physical activities.
This project is an attempt to design an interactive environment for children, through group activities and by providing
them with visual, auditory and physical interactions, thus providing them with the feeling of outdoor and make them
have fun, learn and play through an interactive installation.
This installation consists of five different games and all the games have different inputs and they include one or the other physical interaction. These games are basically for fun, play and help in some learning too.
Internship at Impelsys, Bangalore
At Impelsys, I worked as a part of Interaction team and participated in the ideation, conceptualization
and designing of the web portal for the market segment- Science, Technology and medicine.
We followed the process and
accordingly we did data collection and designed the portal keeping in mind the standards of web 2.0,specific user
interaction level, visual appeal and the features required for a publisher's and community website, so that the users
should be able to participate, should be able to share and communicate with others.
Employment finder for low income group
Guide: Prof. Anirudha Joshi
The Project is an attempt to study the means and methods of various people like carpenter, plumber,
electrician, maids (people under low income group) follow to appropriate work. The aim is to design a system and to
find a solution to help all the people under the above mentioned group for finding a suitable job. It also aims at
the study of the problems faced by these people while finding employment opportunities.
One of the design solutions
to this problem is an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, a mobile application and a website which will help the
customers to find the service providers (plumbers, carpenters etc). This is an ongoing project, and there will be
further developments.
