RESUME
Redesign of stamp cancelling device for India post
Guide: Prof. B. K. Chakravarthy

Since long back India post is using hand stamp for stamp cancellation. Automatic machines are available only at the head post offices, GPO’s due to their high cost and requirement of electricity.

This project aims at designing a new method or mechanism for stamp cancellation which should not be dependent on electricity and should improve print quality and speed of operation. Final design is a pedal operated mechanism where printing is carried out using rollers. Motion is transferred from pedal through flywheel to the print roller. Flywheel helps in uniform torque. Speed of operation can be controlled by pedal. Provision for automation is also made as optional.
