RESUME
Designing an Electric Autorickshaw
Guide: Prof. K.Munshi
The project dealt with understanding and analysing one of the most commonly used modes of public
transportation, Auto Rickshaw. In this process the problems and issues related to an auto rickshaw were analysed from
different perspectives of user and the same were attempted to solve.
The project led to product featuring features like increased headroom and legroom for better comfort, relocated luggage
space for better space utilization, better interiors enhancing the general image of autorickshaw and also an
innovative form to increase its overall appeal. The rickshaw is powered by Li-ion batteries supplying power to a hub
mounted electric motor
Design for manufacturability in composites
Mr. Nachiket Thakur, Mahindra Composites, Pune
The project work basically dealt with understanding the composite material and manufacturing processes.
This understanding had to be implemented further to redesign and modify a vehicle concept to suit the composite
manufacturing process. The design process included giving fresh exterior form to the compact vehicle and also
designing the complete interior, considering the manufacturing process. The project work also included providing
component level detailing suiting the material and manufacturing process.
Personal Mobility Solution for future
Guide: Prof. V.P.Bapat
The project deals with proposing a future form of transportation for a city with completely different
conditions as compared to the current world situation.
The basic purpose of the vehicle is to provide minimal horizontal footprint when within the city while providing an
aggressive posture and dynamics while moving at higher speeds off the city limits. The vehicle is particularly focussed
on the youth generation of the future and how the innovative form of transportation will suit their requirements and
also how it attracts them in using it all the time.
