RESUME
A short film on Repressive State Apparatus (15 mins approx.)
Guide: Prof. Raja Mohanty
Elysium is a short (15 mins approx.) experimental fiction film. 'Elysium' means any place or state
of perfect happiness; paradise. The film delves into spatial and conceptual models of society and reality.
Two
important ideas that the film explores are 'Panopticism' a word coined by Michael Foucault and Plato's Allegory of the
Cave. The story weaves around social dilemmas and the human condition. It attempts to tackle controversial questions
in a more expressive and engaging manner. It leans towards a dark humor.
The wicked jackal
Guide: Prof. Nina Sabnani
An illustrated story book for children: "The wicked Jackal", was designed
at the request for a pitch by Tulika Publishers. The book was to use a maximum of three colors for screen printing.
The old story of the jackal was re contextualized and executed in a new style using vector graphics.
The exciting
part was to develop double spread graphics even though each page of the story was treated as a separate event in the
story.
Gandhi Museum at Agakhan Palace, Pune
Guide: Prof. Kirti Trivedi
The Aga Khan Palace was built in 1892 by Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah Agakhan
III. Post the Quit India movement in 1942, Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba and his secretary Mahadevbhai were
interned at the palace from 9 August, 1942 to 6 May, 1944. Mahadevbhai and Kasturba passed away while in captivity at
the Agakhan palace and their samadhis are located in the campus. Aga Khan palace is now a National Monument of
India’s freedom movement and this project is sponsored by the Survey of India.
I am conceptualizing, designing and detailing the exhibits in the first two galleries of the museum. The first gallery
is an experiential installation and the second gallery houses a narrative of 'Mahatma Gandhi's life'.
