The Secret World of Teenagers
Guide: Prof. Raja Mohanty
The Secret World of Teenagers - a study of behavioral pattern of teenagers
to understand their mannerism and thought process. A spate of disturbing stories about Indian teens, led me to explore
this generation to figure out a way through which they can express themselves. The understanding was then expressed
in the form of a book comprising a collection of poems written by teenagers themselves; expressing their confusions,
experiences, problems, fears or challenges that they face in their everyday life.
Three different themes were
explored (graphics, photographs and typography) to create an experience and encourage the thought process of the
reader.
Remote Play
Guide: Prof. Prof. Ravi Pooviah
Dr. Ajanta Sen
A group project with Marvel technologies (USA) to design a device for
Remote play for 5-12year olds. The technology was intended to intiate a play between two or more distant users. The
project begins with understanding kids, their behaviour, their daily routine and observing their play, leading to
design goals. Focus being an outdoor play that takes them away from their daily routine without any parental
restrictions.
The final output was two different games named Tip Hopper and Ka-zoom which were then tested with the
user group to understand their rection and creating prototype for the same.
Visualizing Multimodal interactions for digital media
Guide: Prof. Ravi Pooviah
Digital lives as digital media – music, photos and video are expanding at
an explosive rate. However there is not much that has changed in the way people interact with or organize these fast
growing media collections. In order to accommodate a wider range of scenarios, tasks, users and preferences, interfaces should
be more intuitive and adaptive. With newer modalities (speech, hand gestures, gaze etc) there can be many new
paradigms for interaction.
The project deals with observing and analyzing the current environment and user behaviour
and conceptualizing new visualizations and interactions that support the organization, navigation, consumption and
sharing of digital media
